Safely Watering Ducks with Ducklings

How do you water your duck parents while keeping ducklings safe for those first few weeks? I had a bowl I thought was tall enough, but apparently not.

I start out with chick waterers for my ducklings first week then they graduate to one of these I have a few that are short and a few that are taller for mom one of the taller goes on top of a brick platform so ducklings can’t get inside.

That's cool! But what do you do for the adults?

For the first two three weeks mom gets same kind of waterer just larger and it sits up higher so the ducklings can’t climb into it.

Planter saucers work well for me, so do the 5 and 7 gallon waterers.

I have one of these in there. Was just worried about mom & dad not being able to submerge their faces.

Isn’t the duckling going to be climbing into these and pooping in them?

I use the chicken water fonts and a rubber livestock bowl for watering Momma and Ducklings. I place a brick outside the bowl and one inside so Ducklings can climb out and in..
