Safety of naval jelly rust desolver in galvanized steel watererers that have rusted

I have a chicken waterer that is rusting. I read on here about using naval jelly to seal it. Is this safe for my chickens to drink from ???

I would not use it, it is for cleaning metal, it is a caustic chemical….. Just get a new one and be safe.

I saw the recommendation on this site so I assumed they would know,, so I followed their directions.
