The Saipans I raised got taken out by a predator as well as the Egyptians. A Racoon we killed had gotten into a coop one night, and went on a rampage but we also had a hawk get a few birds free ranging, end result the Egyptians and Saipans is what got killed. Other breeds did fine free ranging. So I am deciding if I should try again with them. I am going to experiment with some new predator repeller devices over the winter to see how it affects the unwanted critters. Here is a photo of the three boys. I do like the breed.

My biggest boy is starting to crow, & get a bit feisty.

First pullet is gonna lay her first egg today. She picked a weird time to lay it, all the birds are usually done laying eggs at this time.

Thinking about crossing in some Malay with these to help increase size. Will use my Pea Combed black Malay cockerel since he resembles them closest with that feature. Also he's very sleek with his tight feathering.
