Salmon Faverolle slow feathering and growth

Can you post a pic of the bottle? I think Sugar has a genetic issue. What hatchery is she from?

My pet chicken although I’ve heard they get some of their chicks from Meyers but I’m unsure.

I got a SS last year that was the exact same way, curled toes and all. The toe curl developed later on, she didn't come with it. She was from Meyers. I've seen several threads on here about birds from Meyers that have all the same issues as mine. I think Meyers has some inbreeding or something going on in a few of their flocks. My SS died unfortunately. It's weird that the bottle doesn't have a dropper.

It’s disappointing that hatcheries do that, I hope he’ll survive. if he lives I might give him to someone who has a more docile flock though.

Cilantro is starting to get bigger now and I’m a little worried about her getting to be to much for him at some point, will that be a problem?

It’s weird though, he used to be just fine, the toes were a little crooked then too. I wonder what happened.

Toes are probably due to some wonky genetics compounded due to the nutritional problems of not eating well. Have you tried making some scrambled or hard boiled eggs and feeding them? Yogurt is also a good choice. I hatched out some chicks from eggs from Meyers. Interestingly I had three slow growers come from those eggs. Out of the three just one continues to lag at almost 6 weeks.

I had a sick runt that grew up with my other birds. They kind of took care of her and let her warm up under them. I think it depends on the breed and disposition of the individual. Just keep an eye on them, but they should be fine.
Thank you
