I'm thinking about getting a salmon favorlle. Can someone tell me about how big they get and their temperament etc...?

I loved mine, BUT they are very gentle and sweet, and in my mixed flock, tended to be low in the pecking order. My roosters were very polite and gentle, and the hens were good layers, and one raised several broods of chicks. Beautiful!!! Large enough to be good eating. If you love RIRs or other more aggressive breeds, not a good fit. Mary

If you have a mixed flock of salmon faverolles and brahmas it would be a flock full of sweet, even tempered babies.

Mine are very friendly. I have 4. The pecking order debate is hardly noticable. I got mine from hatchery stock, and they were not as big as advertised in their descriptions. I would say mine are "medium" sized birds. My eggs are also medium. From 4 birds we typically get 2-3 eggs a day.

One of my girls has gone broody twice, but she was not nasty about it. She sat tight, but would not peck me or anything while I was inspecting what was under her.

Store "large" vs. Faverolles egg.
