I am so sorry you lost your Samson. He sounded like quite the bird! What a great life it sounds like he had

Sorry to hear of the passing of Samson. It's wonderful that you had him so long and having the beak problem too!
My tiel lived for about 8 yrs "Cookie"-miss him too. He was fine one day and gone the next-cried for weeks after. He was so sweet.

so sorry for your sadness! I would have never dreamed that a bird was a good companion until I got chickens 3 years ago. I have teetered on the edge of the idea of an indoor bird at times now.

Oh, I'm so sorry about Sam. It's the pesky ones that are missed the most because they impact your day more than the laid back ones. I wasn't a bird lover until I got my first cockatiel; now I've got two and I get such a kick out of them and I'm always amazed at how affectionate and lovable birds are.

I thought about getting a hand fed baby cockatiel. There was some gorgeous ones at the pet store but they wanted too much for them. ($99 and up) Im sorry for your loss. But look at it this way, in cockatiel years he lived a very full and long life. You should be proud that you gave him that life. Now he is in birdy heaven.

Thank you for all of the kind words everyone. My dad, who is NOT an animal person, was upset this morning when we woke up and Sam wasnt in his cage. It sure is quiet without him, but our Cockatoo is trying to help with that problem.
