Do they also sell hay, straw and shavings?
When are they opening in Ramona?
on their website they only offer two strand bales. Its a midwestern Company but it happens to be the largest in the country. IF my little place goes under I will have to go to Brundys in Seely.

The one saving grace for my place Double S is they sell exotic feeds.... Stuff like Flamingo Chow and Mazuri and Bear chow....

The other deal is if they have to get their hay here in CA Those prices are going to be equivalent.... But they do carry things that I havent been able to get at a decent price. Probably because they have a central wearhouse and can buy in bulk..... stuff like Cattle panels and water tanks....

I have to agree with all of you. The price and selection will make a huge difference for me as well.
I have been to Tractor Supply stores in other states and the service there was pretty good.
At the end it will come down to quality for me. There are some feed stores I prefer to buy my hay over other stores because the quality is consistently better there.
But if it comes down to pay $117 compared to $69.99 like my mentioned example yesterday, well I have to wait until Tractor Supply opens.....

The one I could find was priced was 193.... wont say where. Then I saw 69.99 at TSC.... Dang. Last time I bought one was 90 bucks.

I go through 1250 pounds of bermuda a month... Good stuff and around 19 bucks a bale. But I need someone to deliver it for me. Thats a deal breaker.

We buy in Temecula and Fallbrook. The other day my husband went into Dan's Feed and asked about buying a pallet of something, they told him to talk to the guy in the office, but didn't bother mentioning where the office was. He figured it out. When he asked the guy in the office about a discount for buying a pallet of feed. The guy offered 50 cents per $20 bag of feed. My husband asked for delivery to Rainbow, you know, 10 miles down the road. "No" was the answer. Yeah, great service here locally!!! I'm rolling my eyes if you can't see!!

The only place I've actually got consistently GOOD service is Deer Springs in San Marcos. Someone always asks me if I need help, and helps me, listens all that jazz!

So if TSC is cheaper with the same crappy service I think I will save my money. I buy about $1000 in feed a month, you would think that people could at least be NOT rude.

I found a fellow that works at my feed store that lives close to me. That Is the ONLY way I could afford delivery to my house.... Closest quote I got was 60 bucks and you had to spend a certain amount in order to qualify for delivery.

Rude is just stupid... It costs a company ten times in lost patrons. than it does to keep patrons by being accomodating.... This is the ONLy thing that will keep these small businesses alive.

I have a family member that buys $4,000 a month in horse feed from Dan's and they still charge for delivery to a farm in Temecula!
I dont mind paying for delivery it costs fuel and manpower..... They just need to be considerate...

I could buy hay directly from the grower But their minimum is a Trailer load. Which I believe is 10 or 15 tons. And their delivery fee is about 300 bucks. That includes off loading though its a good deal.

TS will give a nice discount for buying feed bulk and will deliver! My experience was they were very nice and accommodating. They go thru customer service training. I'm not trying to push for TS but all the benefits do weigh in!

Well, I had to check out the TS website. Found out that depending on the different feeds I buy, the savings will be between$3 to (OMG!) $8.40 per bag for the exact same stuff. The quality of their shavings has mixed reviews, so will have to see. But that sure will make a difference per bag, per month and not even to imagine in a year....Therefore I can even spend the extra $ on gas to make it worth while and do not have to dig deep for extra coupon savings or does TS accept those also?
