San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Hi

I drive 40 minutes each way from Alpine and I enjoy the drive. I don't have young children and if I did I wouldn't want to be that far away from them during the day if I had a choice. By the way I have a Gold Laced Polish hen at the ranch waiting for you

Good Luck,

Gail
Thanks Gail!

I'd love to get the Gold Laced Polish, just not sure if I should add anymore chickens to my flock right now since i'm in the process of getting the house ready for market......

Not Dulzura but I live in a similar location.... Verison is about the only choices some places. Regular phone lines are pretty much every where unless you buy an off the grid place. For me I used dialup for about five years in Jacumba... But that was before real satelite internet was available. Huges is the go to these days.... but there are others.... down load speeds are faster than up load speeds.

And depending on your package you have a "limit" to how much internet usage you use. I been looking at packages for myself.

this is about what I can afford... barely.

Thanks for the info Deb. I've been trying to do some research and it seems that 100GB monthly is about the max I've seen. That was with Dish and it was 50GB peak and 50GB anytime. That's just not enough data for the amount my whole family uses, primarily because they stream videos on their tablets or watch Netflix because we don't currently subscribe to any tv service. I'm just trying to figure out what my best options are especially if I'd like to work from home occassionally, which requires me to VPN into the office......

they do have professional packages... Which may be tax deductable if you are using it for business. then get a separate account for the kids. and let them know the limits.

Satellite TV of just aobut any type can be your source for TV.... Netflix used to be sent in the mail....

Where I live I dont even get cell service. I have to drive half way to the highway for line of site to a cell tower. Thogh I have had both Direct TV and the other one... and liked them immensely.... just the basic packages.

I am afraid youd have to check in to Dulzura maybe chat someone up at a local cafe...

I get my Netflix on DVD's in the mail so I don't have to use up any gigs to watch a movie. We have Verizon internet out in Japatul.

Going to start looking for my piece of farm property heaven soon! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself!

I've my hand in raising chickens for the last 2.5 years, but I want to prep myself for other livestock (i.e. turkeys, guinea fowl, etc) Can any recommend any good books to read? I'd love to get a head start on my education!
