San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I gave away my beautiful black Isbar rooster last year, thinking I didn't need/want him. Well, I was wrong. Looking for Isbar chicks, or cockerels. If you have some to sell or give away, please PM. Thank you.

Hi San Diego peeps... pun intended.

I'm so excited, I didn't know this group was here. Glad to join in. I had chickens in La Mesa but left them when I broke up with my boyfriend and he got custody. I hope to get some more as soon as I am in a living situation that allows though. Favor to ask though... I am doing my master's thesis on backyard chickens in San Diego. I am interviewing everyone who is willing who keeps chickens in urban or suburban San Diego county. If you're up for it, reply here or message me.

Also - does anyone know how to get in touch with Paige the "chicken lady" in Ramona. Is she still around?

there are many of us here who have been raising chickens in San Diego and county for more than thirty years either stealth mode or with enthusiastic approval from neighbors.

I dont know Paige.... but @Phage is in the Del Mar Area.

I had them in Santee back in 1995 Four EES that were so determined to have a roo one of them began to crow. Within a week we had a very enthusiastic white Leghorn Roo try to get into their coop.... He was a wiley fellow. Caught him and re-homed him in Ramona.

I wanted to ask if anyone has or gets a d'uccle rooster and needs a good home please let me know. I have 18 full size hens and 1 porcelain d'uccle hen. I like to have 1 rooster but with my 1 bantam I want a little rooster.

Somebody has contacted me who has a Mille Fleur d'Uccle roo who needs a home. Let me know if you are interested...or if anybody else on here is.
Would you be interested in selling your porcelain hen?
