San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Don't believe all the discounts that you see on TV. It is the same with all the store ad also.

50% off, the regular price of $200 is $100 at one store but at another store the regular price is $50. I would rather pay the regular price of $50 at the second store than the discounted price of $100.

Even though I shop your insurance to more than 20 companies I would not be the lowest in every case, there are just too many factors involve. But 90% of the time I would be able to find something lower. The owners of my company had been in the insurance business for many decades and most of the insurance people in this area were educated by their school before they got their licenses.

I will look into it and ask for a quote. One of my cars is up in a couple of days but it is locked up w/ the others for multi discounts. Will it be okay to pull the others out and cancel early?

Hello fellow chicken fanciers!

I already introduced myself the other day but thought I would drop in here. I live on Palomar Mountain
and have some Serama's, Japanese Blacktails, thinking about maybe getting a Silkie or two (and some more Seramas of course).
Anyway, hope to meet or chat with some of you eventually.

Thanks, Glenn

I don't have a restauant! After a long carreer in Restaurant/Hotels/Clubs, I now have the perfect job all my entire
run, Camp Chef at Camp Palomar, cooking for 6th Grade kids.
I love it! The kids are great, seeing inner city kid's faces grinning from ear to ear when I tell them they can eat
ALL the Pizza they want, telling them it's the best darn Pizza on the Whole mountain!

(No, they don't need to hear it's the ONLY Pizza on the mountain)
Hearing them talk about the different animals they saw on their all day adventure, etc working sane normal hours,
home by 6:20, no Holidays or weekends, Yeah... it's the best!
Looking forward to chatting or meeting woth some of you.

Glenn

I didn't know 6th grade camp was an all year event. My son went to 6th grade camp a couple years ago, maybe he ate some of your pizzas, he said the food was good but they were very hungry after hiking and playing all day.

Hi Everyone!
I'm so excited to find some "neighbors"! I'm in Escondido, I'm 10 months new to the whole chicken raising thing, but I am definitely addicted. I started off with 4 baby chicks from the feed store, when I happened to walk in during "Chick Days" last February, and couldn't say "No". Those 4 girls, (2 Buff Orps, 2 Australorps) started the whole thing. Since then, our flock has expanded to 7 egg layers/pets (we lost one this summer due to heat), plus I've enrolled my girls in 4-H, and we have our first set of "show chicks", a pair of BBR OEG, (which makes 9 chickens) but I'm already dreaming of having an incubator, and I'm sure you can fill in the rest of that sentence......

I would really love to be a part of this group, as I see that some of you have some chickens I'm really interested in adding to my little flock! Forgive me if for my newbie-ness.. I may have some really dumb questions from time to time, but I love my little feathered friends, and this forum is making me appreciate and adore them more each day.

Welcome,

I started with only 2, now I have too many.

Someone once told me that the real dumb questions are the ones that you never ask.

Good Morning Al, You gave me a much needed laugh. I did something really STUPID with the incubator yesterday and really needed a cheer up. 2 to TOO MANY reminds me the last time I had chickens. I went from 6 to 60 in a heartbeat.

I am getting ready to drive your way. I have to go the Chula Vista to replace a incubator part and it just became available and I cannot wait to have it shipped. So I will be driving in the rain.
