well my main flock consists of a very handsome RIR rooster, 4 red sexlink, 1 black sexlink, and a cukoo marans, i have 22 chicks in the brooder 11 are from my RIR and hens 11 are Black Copper Marans that i bought, i also have a collection of 8 bantam cochins, and 4 burbon red turkeys...cant wait for my marans to grow up and start laying!!!

My husband and older son just told me they're going to be away on the 22nd... I am going to try to lock down a babysitter so I can still come without my 3 year old. (I'd like to have fun, and not be on full-time chase duty!)

CherylCohen: we moved out to Ramona after living in Poway for 11 years. Poway is a great town, but land (especially enough land for horses & chickens) is wickedly expensive. We live ten minutes away, up and over the hill, and have 5 acres. The market here is very soft right now, and you'd be able to pick up a nice place for little money. I wish we had a spare money tree so we could be snatching up more property!

Also: I may have a nice Speckled Sussex rooster to give away. My friend (who techinically owns him) needs to come see him first, but he's a beautiful boy. He just started crowing (was hatched on 10/1), and is definitely interested in the ladies. I am keeping my Columbian Wyandotte roo, and don't need two roaming around here... is there anybody who would want him if my friend doesn't?

Lastly, is anyone here in SD county breeding any of these: Welsummers, Black Copper Marans (or any Marans), Easter Eggers or Blue Andalusians? I'd like to add to my flock, but would prefer to skip the chick stage and go straight to coop-ready pullets.

I hope to see you on the 22nd! I'll bring some sort of appetizer if I can make it.

Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not been around. I have been busy with the NY's Hatchathon.

I cannot wait until the Meet-up. It will be so nice to see you all again and to meet the newcomers.

Sweet Violet: I would love to take some 5 gallon containers if they are potted with Plumeria's.

I could not help myself. I am just kidding.

On a more serious note, I too, have 1 and 5 and 15 gallon containers if they interest anyone. Not sure how many of the 15's I can get in my Civic but if anyone wants, I will try my best but I will not waste space if they are not wanted.

I will wait to see the food list last minute so I can bring what is needed. Not so sure about a main dish since I will have a very long trip but I could drop by and buy something on the way down. I will bring the Chinese Fluff Cake so Cari, you can put me down for that for sure.

I have come a long ways since the last meet up. I did not even have chickens at the time and now I have way more than I ever intended.

But I

them all but I will not have any eggs for a couple of months. So if anyone has a surplus they would like to sell, lmk.

Also, if anyone has or knows anyone locally with Black Copper Marans, Barnevelders, Olive Eggers, or just about any that lays colorful eggs, I am interested in hatching eggs or ????. I am open to chicks or hens. They do not need to be SQ since I only want them to lay eggs and since I cannot have roos.

I am also looking for feeders if anyone has any that they outgrew or just do not like, I am in need of some and just thought I would put it out there before I go to the feed store.

I am so excited to see ya all again.

Hey guys, I am going to order a batch of Freedom Rangers (probably in February) and wanted to know of anyone wants to split it/ add to it with me? For example; we get 3 people, we each pay for our number of chicks we ordered, and divide shipping into thirds...
