those roos are spectacular. 5 hatched thus far. i think that will be it though. cochins will hatch fri-sat and there are 8 looking good. i will have promised a few elsewhere also. I hope that they are out of the bator by sunday morning so I can show my niece and nephew the other california

Oh I wondered if anyone had started the raffle eggs. Gail will you let me know how they do? I hatched 2 pekins of my own out six. Was hard though but let me know, I'm wondering if it was just because I'm a newbie at the hatch process. Would love to hear your process, successes and difficulties.

Ducks ideally have a separate incubator and a little higher humidity from what I have read. They also should be cooled and sprayed daily (thus the separate incubator) - I need to look further into it.

In order: Broken Black Lionhead buck, Black Lionhead doe, blue Jersey Wooly doe (legs and GCh.), Tortoise jersey wooly doe, tortiose jersey wooly buck. All for sale/need rehoming. PM if interested - also have some mini rex still. (I want the 3 jersey woolies to go together if possible)

On a completely unrelated note, my ewes have not had thier babies yet and are making me nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did it! My sister in law came over and helped me and we processed 3 older hens (they were downright mean to my pullets!) Still have the extra roos to do, but not so intimidated. Not fun by any means, but actually not as hard as expected. Meat resting in brine.

Looks really good. Little skin tears but I did that my first time around too. You wont be disappointed! Glad you were able to get the experience because I believe it really does make you appreciate the food a little bit more. Enjoy.

JerseyHen, a BYCer from northern NJ travels over here every few months with work. She has eggs she wants to swap with SoCal BYCers. She will potentially bring eggs from other NJ users as well.

This idea could gain traction. I know she will be here just after easter with some Light Brahma LF eggs. Would anyone fancy a helping great service get off the ground and diversify their flock either with a new breed or fresh blood?

I just wanted to thank Kristin (Rye Ranch) for letting me get 4 of her cream legbars. They are the cutest chicks ever! They are so mellow and quiet (for right now lol). I am very pleased!
