In other news, I bought an incubator today. Yup, one of those 300 egg incubators,where if the egg is fertile, it will hatch. I am soooo in trouble now. So if any of you all have some eggs you would like me to hatch - there is room at the inn. Muhahaha!

What would your fees be?

i have a hen around that age.it is a blue laced mix.so pretty.i was going to bring her to the meet up.her mother is a blue laced red wyndotte.i have a white nn too.she is just started laying.she looks like a naked neck delaware.

Thanks to all for your kind words regarding the loss of my laying hens. However, I was fortunate to find a gal in Temecula/Murietta who has 4-6 month old RIR. I have arranged to pick up 15 girls from her tomorrow. Hopefully they will be laying soon & I will be back in business.

Oh my, I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the heartbreak. I'd be a mess if I lost my birds. They're all very near and dear to me. *hugs*

Thanks, I plan to be there. We won't melt with a few raindrops. I might be interested in a rooster if anyone has a good crower. They are so magnificent!

I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm glad you were able to find the RIRs so quickly.
That is a strong reminder for me who has become a bit complacent, not having had a loss for quite some time.

Is anyone bringing chicks/ hens to the meet-up for sale or trade? I have some started chicks at 8wks and some chicks under 2 broody hens that are 3 and 4wks old now (prob to cold for hatching's). Gail hatched bunch and all the bators are full! HELP!!. As well as hens and a Buff Brahma Rooster (big boy crow) that was hand raised and is really sweet!
Counting down the hours now.... see you folk soon!
