San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I'm looking for Wynadotte, Australorp, Buckeye or Sussex eggs/chicks/pullets.

Hi I have Black Australorp and Silver Wyandotte eggs available but with all the bad press I'm getting on Craigslist I'm not sure you can trust me or the hens to produce. Gail 619 665-3100 This post is supposed to be for someone looking for fertile eggs

I just posted this http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/grd/3676816899.html and this http://sandiego.craigslist.org/ssd/grd/3676337052.html in response to that troll on CL.

We love you Gail!!!!!!!

I hate Craigslist. I'm so sorry, Gail!

I hate the craigs list Drama. But it is so funny.

For the Serama Chicks they are $10 and will be 1 week on Saturday. I also have Fertile eggs $12 for a Dozen out of 3 separate pens. I can't believe how quiet they are are, I guess its been a while since I've had chicks in the house.

I also have some 50% Serama and 50%??? Millie de Fleur de uncle or a white silkie or black silkie. (the extra roosters wandering in the yard) She escaped the hen house and i noticed a few days later that we hadn't seen her.... Me and my husband both thought for sure that she had been dinner. Much to our surprise our Red Bone Coon-hound was barking at a planter and when my husband went to go see what all the barking was about he saw the hen under the planter,(she's a very small hen) he went to pick her up and out keep dropping chicks. That little tiny broody serama was on 10 eggs and hatched 8 herself, some still half in shell. We're guessing that the chicks must have started to chirp catching the attention of our big puppy that morning. Some momma hens really pick great hiding spots. I feel she earned the right to raise her chicks till see gives them up. Been taking great care of them. We found them 3/2/13 not exactly sure when they'd be available but if anyone is looking for a very small barnyard variety bird i have 8. I'd be willing to trade for items. I love homemade jam and could always use knife or pruner sharpening and i need to work on the raised garden beds for the spring, if anyone has seeded Veggies to put in. I haven't planted anything yet that hadn't replanted itself. Fertile Wheaten eggs or cream leg bars or anything else interesting. Has anyone put there spring veggies out? And if you have what is everyone growing? I'm thinking of planting pickles this year anyone have a good variety
