I went to the feed store this morning to get some feed. There were a group of people around the baby chicks so of course i had to check them out. To my horrible dismay a mom was letting her toddler pick up the chicks and drop them. I had to put a stop to the insanity immediately. The store owner thanked me after laying down the law to the offenders. two of the poor chicks were injured, one with spradle leg and another with what appears to be a slipped Achilles tendon. Well both chicks were given to me free of charge, as well as 2 more just to keep them company. And all I wanted was feed!!!![]()
The lil one with spradle leg brace was applied and although it is a bit annoyed seems to be doing ok. The one with the slipped tendon, I rolled it back into place and used a bendy straw as a splint. This one not looking so goodThey are all Anconas.![]()

Yeah, but all of the ones that shouldn't have the most kids, so evolution works in reverse for people - at least in terms of brains and common sense.![]()
