San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

Our worlds collide once again... I took my first lessons at PV Stables, and then we kept my first horse at Rolling Hills Stables for seven years. Shows at Ernie Howlett, Empty Saddle Club, Portuguese Bend, etc. Good times! This was my first love, Joe. He was an exceptionally good sport! (That picture was taken at Chandler Park if you remember that place... right behind RHE City Hall.)

There is ALWAYS poop to be scooped here! Always.

This is the cutest picture Dana!

anyone interested in a pair of Bantam Blue Orpingtons? I will be making a trip to ...guess what...get more chickens of course!! and the person wants to sell them for $40 for the pair. Let me know or contact Lacy Blues directly

Has anyone raised Partridge Rocks before? I picked up 2 of them the other day to add to my ever growing flock....

I have a few roos in need of homes. The dad is what we were told is an Ameracauna but DFDesigns said he's not but he is an Easter Egger. Mom's are varied. One is obviously an R.R, one bar rock,
Here are some pictures but they are blury since no one wanted to stay still. And please excuse the photo bombing Aracauna cross at the bottom of the picture. She was cracking me up!
If you want them they are free. My hens have been keeping them in line so far but been noticing more and more bald girls. Time for them to move on whether it's to a new home or the freezer.

Hi - I'm new here in Carlsbad. Can anyone recommend a good vet? Thanks!!
Rosanne Brown of Rancho San Diego Animal Hospital not only sees chickens but she loves them and is a chicken owner herself. They have other great vets but for chickens you want her.

Edit:
I assumed just chickens. Janet Loken saw my ducks and she's fantastic, too. Used to work there so can tell you from first hand experiance. Will be a bit of a drive for you but don't know anyone else that I'd recommend.

Yep, those are all Easter Eggers, not Ameruacanas or Araucanas. =) I'll take them if you don't want them.
