Hello my family and I are in Carlsbad we are new to chickens and we have 7 8 week old and under chicks. We are enjoying learning and socializing about all things chicken. love reading the posts and look forward to getting to know some of you here in the San Diego area. We have three silkies one Maren Roo one barred rock and one Americauana. Looking forward to talking chicken and seeing all of yours!!!! Happy summer in this gorgeous place.

I don't live in your neck of the woods but enjoy your beautiful home monthly at Legoland (was there today . We drive from just north of Norco (Riverside, Corona area) & deliver organic scratch and peck chicken feed & then go to Legoland with our passes for a day of family fun. You guys are blessed with beautiful weather for sure & I bet your chickens enjoy it as well & will bless you in return in 3-4 more months with lovely eggs as a sign of gratitude for that mild beach climate. Have fun with them & stick around this group as there are lots of knowledgeable & helpful people on it that I have learned so much about chickens from just by reading through their posts the past few months.

How great. We are first timers too. How many do you have and where did you get yours from. We got ours from Carters in olivenhain and Country feed in Vista. Aren't they a blast?

Could anyone use a HUGE number of educational VHS videos (for free). They are sesame street, stranger danger, counting etc, barney, blues clues, telebubbies, etc etc plus disney classics.

Just hoping they could be useful for other children as they were for mine. Would need to pick up from Del mar or La Jolla area. OR I could take them with me to Pasadena tomorrow if someone was interested.

Having a 6 year old and a 2 yr old we are at LEGOLAND all the time too. Cant wait for these eggs...but have to tell ya a little nervous...im learning to care for them day by day. Always jumping out of my skin if one sneezes and running to look it up on BYC. Overprotective I suppose.
