San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

I have one in a pot and one is on the ground, both not really growing. And I put a lot of chicken poop next to them.

Is it in ground or in a pot? They grow much faster/better if planted in ground. Looks like you might have ducks/shelducks? If you can, have their pond water drain around the banana tree, it will Take Off! when it warms up. Bananas are very heavy feeders, almost cannot feed them too much, exceptions are cultivars known to "choke"- flower gets stuck inside the stem- may be best not to feed those too much or rarely with too much fertilizer at once. Getting cheap fertilizer will do them wonders, give it same amount regularly.

We'll be there abut 11:30. So not early. Looking forward to seeing everybody's wares! And doing some chicken shopping. I'll bring extra brownies and whatever else looks good on the bakery rack. I don't do much home baking. Over Christmas I baked some cookies and they turned out so salty I had to toss 'em.

If people wanted pics of the birds I have here they are. They were all taken about a month ago.

! If ANYONE who is coming has some EE's (preferably between 4mo-1yr) that they are willing to part with, please message me and let me know how much $ to bring! I got duped - was sold 2 "Ameraucanas" who were EEs that lay cream/tan!

I want to try again and hopefully have some more colorful eggs

Thanks a lot!

I'm going to have to bring blinders and earplugs tomorrow! Blinders so I won't fall in love with all the animals there, and earplugs so that I don't have to listen to "Mommy, PLEASSSEEEEEE!!!" from my daughter!!

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.

I was sold an Ameraucana, found out it was and EE and she has indeed layed beautiful blue/green eggs. It took her awhile but it's been worth it. Good luck tomorrow! See you there.
