Beach....and all the ducks would be so happy.......

There is also a nice spot with covered area tables and benches ( similar like what we had in Ramona) across from Fiesta Island and "Ski Beach", more secluded and safer to bring chickens if we are allowed to bring some. I am not 100 % sure, but I think it is called South Shore or so, but I can double check tomorrow.......

Fiesta island or Torrey pines would be great locations if we are allowed to bring chickens. Fiesta island should be Ok as during the fires animals were being evacuated out there.

Cari a dozen would be great. Maybe I could get them when we next meet up?
Who did you get the Blue wheatens from? I have had no luck with them at all.
Just got some from ebay. Really pretty blue eggs. Bought 6 and they sent 16!!!

BUT I think the post office must have done a number on them as only one is developing, and most had damaged air sacs.
Last year I got 2 really expensive sets from Maryland and the eggs came totally smashed each time. Just one egg developed and it hatched, a roo of course!

Had some LF lavender ameracaunas hatch. They are so pretty!! and a bunch of silkies (16 of them) yesterday. So it is still only January and there are already 2 brooders in the house! I am in trouble.......

How adorable, Phage. I can see why you love hatching.

My vote would be somewhere a little warmer than the beach. July- definitely the beach, but February- I just don't know...

It may be cold and windy?

I like the idea of Lake Murray (my neighborhood), but is that too close to where we had the first meetup? Someone had suggested north county, how about the Temecula area?

I don't know East County or Downtown very well, but here's one that I am familiar with that is nice. It has plenty of tables and picnic areas that can be reserved. I would guess that they would be chicken friendly too, but its always best to call first.

Felicita County Park, Escondido

I'm totally open to some of the other locations mentioned too, the beach site was the only one I worried about.

BTW, I design websites for a hobby, should I put together a webpage for San Diego Chickens? I have space on my server to host it. It would be informational only, nothing to compete with this site, but it could be a resource for our area? For those of you that breed, hatch, or sell, we could have a breeders directory with links to your personal sites.

I was thinking about doing this too with a calendar of events etc... I design websites too, it's part of my job with our business

we can set something up really cool.

I think the beach may be too cold, especially for baby chicks and also might be troublesome to eat if there's not tables or if it's too windy/sandy.

I was trying to think of a place that is somewhere in the middle since people are coming from North and South - that way the distance would kinda be the same for most.

A lady from here PM'd me when I posted inquiring about them on the Ameraucana thread. I am only getting a dozen, they are Wheaten and Blue Wheaten, I am praying my hardest for easy shipping and healthy hatching!

That might be a cool idea. Just a simple one with a calendar and info or something?

Yeah maybe we should wait until a little more into summer before trying to hit up the beach. I like the middle idea.

Wow, good to know there are so many people doing websites here. I would like to learn how to do websites too, just for fun. So how does one start when I know nothing? Do you guys use some software programs to build your sites or you do the programing from scratch.
