OK, it was bound to happen. The past few days it's become 'boys vs. girls' over here and I'm concerned the girls are losing. My two silkies ended up being cockerels, so i've got 3 cockerels to 10 pullets - already bad odds, plus the three boys have started team crowing. I can't imagine my neighbors are happy about that, especially when the boys go off at 4am. The silkies are the oldest of the bunch by about 3 weeks. The girls are getting close to laying but aren't quite there yet - Marans seem to be almost there, with the EEs probably a few weeks behind them. Today I saw that the silkies are going after the EEs - not so much the Marans, even though they're older - and I've got pandamonium in the hen house.
So I'm thinking at this point I need to re-home the silkie boys and wanted to ask whether anyone might be interested in a black or a splash silkie cockerel, or both? Here are pix from about 5 weeks ago:

I can take and upload more pix if anyone is interested. I really hate to give them up - they're from my first batch of chicks ever, and the splash is my avatar. But with the girls not laying yet and the girl:boy ratio, I think I have to...unless anyone has any other suggestions...that don't involve building another coop

Does anybody have an incubator they would like to sell?

I think I need a second one, for hatching. I have multiple sets of eggs, and I think I'm screwing things up with turning and humidity loss during those last few days.

If not, I think they have the LG's at the feed store, I was just hoping to find something a little better quality. I have another bunch of eggs that will be at "lockdown" this coming Thursday. Not really enough time to order one online.

You can borrow mine in the mean time, if you want. I finally got me a broodie silkie and while I can't quite decide what to give her to sit on, I know I will probably end up giving her some Mr Turtle eggs. She is on 2 wooden eggs and 2 golf balls, right now.

It's a styrofoam one, not the expensive kind, but it works. I need to sterilize it from the last hatch from almost a month ago. I even have a turner, if you need it.

Thanks guys! I appreciate your generosity. However I got lucky, I found a Hovabator at the local reptile store. I was able to plug it in today, and I'll have a few days to mess with it, and dial in the temp and humidity before next weekend's hatch.
