I belong to a local art group whose purpose is support, structure and commraderie. This month the challenge is WIND.
I understand because the entire SW Ca is a wind tunnel. But the challenge for the art group is to make a piece using our usual medium to say and illustrate that challenge word. Clay is hardly affected by wind other that it gets dry. But I can make a 4D picture of the effects of wind. Say a mural with a few extra car pats flying in the wind or a few upside down cows flying across the sky. I also was thinking of tumble weeds but I need a new garlic press to extrude the pieces through.
Any other suggestion will be respectfully considered.
I really have trouble with the concept of not being able to sew !!! I may be a snob about it but sewing is one of the most practical of skills. Besides being able to make anything from aprons, dresses chicken stuff to car seat covers and curtains it teaches spacial relations, design and hand eye cordination. I learned at home when I was ten but I do think that the public and any school system should include a class in middle school. If df designs, wants I can show her how to sew on a patch.![]()
WIND is the challenge at my place from the months of Oct-May![]()
Good idea Dana I will use it as roofing tiles ARE easy to find around here. And I challenge you to sew on a patch after I show you how !!!! I have lots of patches from parks and other stuff.
Perchie I like that idea.. If I can not find a decent garlic press I will use your design. I could use the inside of caulking tube if I can't find a PVC tube around. But I also need a plunger.
