So a garlic press from the 99 cent store is also a good option.... LOL. Believe me I dont walk around much these days....

deb

yeah Deb, would need a new cap with drilled holes. If I weren't disabled at this point I would walk around checking the house construction sites. There are many new houses in the neighborhood. Those craftsmen are pretty sloppy and leave all types of stuff around.

I've tried to sew. I even have a sewing machine. I've actually made a few random things, but I just don't have the patience to fix the dang machine every 5 minutes when the thread comes loose, or gets bound up in the thingamajigger at the bottom.

I can build though. Give me a saw, a drill, a truck full of wood, and a tape measure, and I can build stuff.

LOL!

Being handy with a wood, saw and hammer or drill goes a long way when raising poultry. The heck with sewing

BTW Sunny, the Ko's are all settled in. I even have eggs in the bator from my PA pair. Shoot me a PM if you still want to come by a check them out?

Cheers

Sunny there are a few tricks that you need to learn about needle and thread placement when stopping to change positions. Did you get a little book with the machine which you could look over. Even some one who has been sewing a long time can learn all types of little tricks by going to sewing conventions and there are some wonderful instructional CDs out there for just about anything including many for sewing . Some women make a living from teaching classes and making DVDs.

Yes it is very important to learn how to use hand tools to make chicken buildings. I've made most of mine, if I have help it is easier. It is empowering to use electric hand tools and it feels great to design your own coops. And if you can do that there is not reason that you can not master the use of a sewing machine especially since you must be interested since you have one.

I suppose I could, if I set my mind to it. My sewing machine is a $99 Walmart model. I bought it about 10 years ago. Its not a good one. I'm not sure if a manual would help me or not!!!
