yes these where the ones the mama abandoned. best hatch ever.even with a $20 brooder.amazing the endurance they have.
only pulled out one clear egg from the dozen and 2 left to hatch.increadable


but i did hear a peeping in the other bator today but didnt see any pips.
ready or not here they come.so exciting each and every hatch.

Renee - were those the eggs that your broody was on?

Allison - I also love the Mitzi pic. And now I want to learn how to knit so those poor NNs don't look so chilly in the snow!

Does anyone want a Meyer Hatchery Easter Egger? She is yellowish with a black muff and lays the standard bluish/green egg. (First one today!) I have two of them and really would prefer one. (So I have room for my future Ameracuana from Cari's flock.)

I'd take that Myers EEer in a flash but I live too far away to be practical. Phage,

I absolutly adore my new cockerel !! He is charming and we had a fun ride all the way back to South Death Valley area. I stopped and had lunch and finger fed scraps to him and he sat next to me without a complaint. He is still making adjustment to his new mates. I put him right into the pen with my older and most docile hens. Would you believe the hen that challenged him first was a Silver Laced Wyandotte who is not really that high on the pecking scale. How old is he BTW ? five months ?

I love EEs, NNs Marans, and Welsummers !!!!! I want to make a mix of Polish (for the crest) Ameraucana for the blue colored eggs, Marans and EEs for size and color of eggs, Silkie for black skin and NNs for durability, production, good personalities and all around wonderfulness. MY goal a NN/EE with black skin and crest. ha ha ha
