Did you get that decent bator??

I placed the order and gave them my credit card number but I haven't heard anything from them. I ordered it because 2 of my Hovabator 1588's weren't heating and I have eggs coming. When I got home I tried them again and now they are working. I tried to call Brinsea today and no one answered so I don't know when it will ship but I hope soon.

I'm not sure how many adults I have but probably about 200-300. We have a ranch up in Anza where most of the adults and all of the roosters are kept. All I know is that I started with 3 bantam chickens and ended up with alot more and I'm still hatching.

I think everyone should have a few chickens in their backyard to eat the bugs and weeds and to give them fresh eggs.

I've been running like Winkle with a grub (new saying, wildly appropriate for my RLBW), but wanted to say hello to everyone.

No more posting cute pics, please. Chickens, bees, dogs, now a goat, and the ducks are looking fun. I'm trying not to get kicked out of Clairemont, for goodness sake (didn't think I would ever hear myself say that).

I hope everyone is staying warm -- nippy here!

Hi there, I live in Escondido, so can someone break it down for me how many roosters can someone have if they have:

Less than 1/2 acre:
1/2 acre
1-5 acres

I keep trying to find that part but I don't see it anywhere. I signed up for the ALBC and bought breeds on the conservancy list as well as 2 cool rare breeds from Europe. I live in Escondido and on the city's website I can't find the specific info there either-everything I've read has been generalized and skips the 1/2 acre to 5 acre limits. Any help is appreciated :).

And I'm eggs-cited! I have sweet Creme Legbar chicks that will lay blue eggs and are auto-sexed chickens, and I have Tolbent Polishes and Basque Hens coming today from Greenfire Farms, hopefully Mille Fleur Leghorns from Cheryl Cohen too! Sweet! I love seeing everyones chicks!

Wow!
I think San Diego is going to be the "Chicken Mecca" of the West!!
No more will we have to send off to the East coast to get cool chickens

I have Tolbunt polish, cream legbars, swedish flower hens, exchequer leghorns, marans and Ameraucanas!

Also I have 10 goose eggs in the bator and getting 9 more (don't ask). I don't want any goslings that hatch, but they will be looking for a home in about a month if anyone is interested.
