Whew.... as I'm just peering in I thought that looked awfully...ummmm, beardy. That is a gorgeous bird, by the way!! Lovely......

Just picked up and cleaned the dust off the incubator my dad had in his garage. It is a Lyon RX2. I need to get a thermometer for it. Any suggestions as to where locally I can go pick one up that works well in incubators?

Surprisingly Lyon Incubators are manufactured right here in San Diego. http://www.lyonelectric.com/ Pretty cool.... right in Chula Vista.
If they don't have the part listed that you need give them a call I betcha they have some back stock repair replace parts for it.

HI!!

I am new to chickens and BYC, but stumbled across this post AFTER your last meetup. I am so happy there are some local crazy chicken people. I'm afraid I am fast becoming one of them. We moved to a home with 3 acres....and it came with 1 BR turkey, 1 Production red, 1 speckled OEGB bantam and 1 black breasted red OEGB bantam. Then two weeks ago we got 8 chicks from Hawthorne's....we went for 4 and came hoome with 8. So I've succumbed to chicken math my first go around. Just ordered a new coop, and can't stop thinking about more pretties I can collect!!

So glad to find you!!

They are addicting! I moved to a property on about an acre in January and am up to 9 chickens, 2 coops under contruction and 20 eggs in the incubator. It is a fun addiction though - and you do get some eggs out of the deal!

Looking for Jules Anderson anyone have phone number?

I don't, but I think she advertises on Craigslist.

They are all really nice... you and Emily really have a great bunch of birds. This particular one is my absolute favorite!

We're heading over to the SD Fair on Friday, and will hopefully get to see some chickens. Is anybody else going? (Or has already gone?)
