Hey guys/girls,
I know this is totally off topic, but I was hoping I could ask anyway. I used to get Organic Sprouted Wheat flour (in the bulk section) at Jimbos and they stopped carrying it. I checked Sprouts/Whole Paycheck and nada...does anyone know if any place local carries this? I really don't want to order online and pay shipping on flour...way too heavy.

Shockey fire burning near Jacumba/Jewell Valley. That's Perchie.girl's neck of the woods. Does anyone have any idea how that fire is going? My mom's cabin is in that area, my husband has his book collection stored out there and is worried. My brother is going to try to get out there tomorrow to check on things but in the mean time if anyone knows anything I would be interested in knowing. I hope everyone in that area is safe.

just got back. I went up when a friend told me my neighbor had been told mandatory evacuation. It burned the back side of Jewel valley as near as I can tell. Back where that Ranch is that has its own Airport. It went up over the ridge and down into the valley where Star Ship ends. I got up there around 8:30 and that valley was glowing red. By the time I drove the 1.5 miles back to my house it was diminishing. I hung around till some neighbors let me know the wind had pushed the fire back towards Mexico. And that the border patrol was saying they couldnt let them back to their house just quite yet. They are completely off grid.....

So I put Katees halter on just in case and came home. By the time I got down my drive way there was no more red glow. Yay.

Hopefully the wind wont kick it up again....

This time of year is so scary when it comes to fires! I just bought rabbit carriers for ALL of my rabbits in case of such an emergency.

Just had to share, but I started my playhouse to coop conversion this past weekend. I'm happy to say it's almost done! I don't have pictures yet, but I'll post some as soon as I take some.

I got most of the windows screened. The last window I didn't screen yet because I need to buy more hardwire cloth and some plywood to make a ledge. Also need to get those closet post things to create a couple perches inside as well as something to use for a nest box.

My boyfriend, and angel, helped me move everything around so the playhouse coop and my two wooden coops are arranged in a cute arrangement. He calls it Villa de Pollo (Chicken Villa). Hehe, he's too cute.

Anyhoo, I can't wait till it's done! I'm super excited.


Just curious, but what all do you guys use for nest boxes?

I use the enclosed style kitty litter boxes. They are about $14 from the supermarket. Easy to clean
