You are doing the good work...well I am going to go out and buy me some Dawn detergent in support of them helping the birds! Oh heck, I ll buy me two Dawns, it will last me a good while!
BUY DAWN!!! Support their company by supplying those wonderful soaps to our helpless animals!
How very awesome of you.
On a side note. I always use Dawn. I have even tried the new ones, but always go back to the original. (Thats one thing I will not buy generic.)
I don't know if I'll be able to get pics...but I might.
For those of you interested in finding out more...
OWCN---is California's Oiled Wildlife Care Network (I am a responder for the Humboldt Center of this Network)
There are updates here...and I see they're up to 465 live birds, 165 dead birds as of last night. http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/owcn/
OSPR- Is the office within California Dept of Fish and Game and they manage the OWCN--they will also have updates http://www.dfg.ca.gov/ospr/
IBRRC- International Bird Rescue and Research Center- They are credited for the major advancements in the best way to care and deal with oil wild birds. They respond to oil spills all over the world. They are partners with OSPR/OWCN--I'll be working with many folks from IBRRC--unfortunately--oil spills are the only time I see some of them which I initially met in 1997 during my first spill the "Kure" spill in Humboldt Bay in 1997 as well as others I've worked with at the other spill's I've worked on. It's hard to believe I've been trained for this for 10years now! http://www.ibrrc.org/owcn_ibrrc.html
