Two of the ducklings in the picture are Hookbills, the two lighter colored ones are the Runners, and the rest are the Dark Campbells. Since the Hookbills and Campbells are genetically the same color ("Dusky") it's a little bit hard to tell them apart in the picture - I can easily pick them out by their bill shape, but I had trouble at first.

I ordered 6 Hookbills last summer from Sandhill, but they had a hard time hatching them and were only able to ship me three - the two Dusky ones I have now and an adorable little solid White one that, sadly, was the one that died just 4 hours after I got them. I'm adding some more Hookbills to my flock from Holderreads this year, just because I want to be sure I actually get some at the date I requested.

But, like I said, I most definately will be ordering from Sandhill again! I want some more of their Buff Runners (because mine is off-color, WAY too blue), and I'm toying with the idea of getting some White Campbells from them too, once I build a few more pens!

The little cutie front and center has to be a Hookbill!
I went to Holderreads website, have never heard of them. I love their Lavender Ice geese...... I think I see some of them in my future! (Maybe next year...)

Yep - that's one of them! The other one is on the far left with it's bill slightly open, peeping at me.

Edited because I got my left-and-right backwards!

Gayle always responded to me, but it took a few days. I never got any replies from Dick or Rose, and I did try for a while.

On the other hand Leisha always gets back to me quickly and has been very helpful. Hopefully she and the others that are left can get things going again!

I think I got really really luck with Rose she has always responded to me very promptly. Dick checks his email I think he is just overwhelmed now that he is out fo breeding he must still get 100+ emails a week about faverolles. He forwarded my email to Leisha and that is how we got in touch. I would love to talk to Dick but I think when he got out he got really out.

Henry

It is a downright shame that he had to get OUT of the Faverolles.....he must have gotten a bad taste of things.

I never had the pleasure of knowing Leisha and I sure hope she will do the best she can!

His bird were amazing! My two new hens were fathered by rooster from him they are superb! Leisha is very nice if a bit overwhelmed she is trying her best to get the club rolling again but its tuff. Next week I should know more about her birds because I am getting a pair of adults from her.

Sandhills birds just don't stand up to breeder birds that's my opinion.

I have been trying to figure out who to buy from and emailed Sandhill a question late in the day on Monday. They responded that same day with an answer. I haven't ordered from them yet, but they DO RESPOND TO EMAILS! They sure seem to have a nice selection of breeds. Does anybody have such a nice selection of breeds and top quality birds? I want different varieties but without have to have each variety shipped separately.

I ordered 5 different varities this last time and they will be shipped on April 4. As long as you dont order something that is unavailable until a certain date that should be no problem

That's what they say, yes. Believe me, the ones I have are not great. I sold the 2 roos, but kept the 5 girls. I will get pictures tomorrow to show you the differece between them and some of mine (growing out) that I feel look much better.
