That's what they say, yes. Believe me, the ones I have are not great. I sold the 2 roos, but kept the 5 girls. I will get pictures tomorrow to show you the differece between them and some of mine (growing out) that I feel look much better.

Sometimes they may not cull out the bad traits out of the Giants. A true breeder would do that. I had two of the Giants and I wasn't impressed with them because they were not as LARGE as the ones that were directly from Miller's flock. Something went bad down the line. The two Giants I sold them ended up as cockerals and my friend told me that they were the same size as her SQlined Orpingtons from Catalupa Farms.

My chicks from Sand Hill came today.

Even though they came from Iowa and I live in MO only 14 miles South of the IA border, it took the post office 2 days to deliver them. Out of 28 chicks, though, all are alive and thriving.

Nancy,

What kind of chicks did you get? They sure look like cute little fluffballs!

I'm expecting Delawares, Jaerhons, Chanteclers, Dorkings and Leghorns from them in a few weeks. Plus I ordered the hatchery surprise for $20. Who knows what I will get!

I got white and blue (and black and splash) Jersey Giants, silver laced Cochins and blue laced red Wyandottes.

I SO wanted to order one of their hatchery specials, I LOVE surprises! Next time I order I need to make sure I have the brooder and coop space to handle 50 chicks instead of just 25...
You'll have to let us know what you got in yours!

Haven't ordered from them in recent years but found their birds to be healthy but rather poor specimens of the breeds. Didn't keep any of them after seeing what "correct" birds of the breeds looked like.

Found communicating with them a little frustrating. BUT... if just looking for chickens that lay eggs and look pretty, I would order from them before the really BIG hatcheries in a heartbeat!!

My chicks from Sand Hill are a month old now.

Anyone else have any new pictures?

Got my Sandhill order last week, they sent 29 chicks. They gave me 6 each of Anconas, Golden Polish, Gold Laced Polish, Sumatras, and 5 Frizzles. All survived, although I lost one Golden Polish a couple days later, and another Golden with crooked toes which I was able to fix.
