Christmas!
Depending on the weather, it's been really volatile lately, we will be spending it with our folks.
Food, visitin, food, visitin, music, food...did I say that already?

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Linda, I learned the piano as an adult too. (Well, more than two years of masochistic lessons anyway.) I'd played the cello for about 15 years already when I started the piano, so I thought it would be a little easier...

Boy was I wrong. It NEVER "came". I had to think each and every single finger placement. I never got to the point where the written note would bypass my brain and go directly to my fingers.

The cello came so easily, even when I was 10. The piano was a very humbling experience.

What's your experience at this point? Do your fingers do things automatically?

Christmas Eve..spent frantically making sure everything is ready for Christmas Day.. Christmas Eve evening..late.. I put out the mince pie and a glass of sherry for Santa, along with a piece of coal (so he is warm in "Santa Land" because it is so cold)....then a carrot for Rudolph and a small piece of a hay bale......so he is not hungry on this massive journey across the world.....CHRISTMAS MORNING...when all is quite in the house...I get up light three dozen candles in the family room, turn on the christmas lights etc., then I get my Reindeer Bells and stand at the bottom of the stairs shouting "He's Been...He's been"..works everytime, my children nearly fall down the stairs in their excitement.....and they love the candlelight.....being in mind now...my DD is 23! and my son is 12....Don't know who's the bigger kid me or them...but I still love the magic of Christmas...we then sing Happy Birthday dear Jesus......before we open any presents......I truly love this time of year and wish that the Christmas Spirit was with the world all year long......peace on earth would reign methinks....x MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE xxxx

Nope I am finding it very difficult, decided it might be better to play by ear... but then again will try and keep at it! I find it easier if someone shows me how to play a small piece, then I kind of "jazz" it up....

My son, wife and 2 grandsons will be at my house this year. So lots of fun and games in store for me. The grandsons ages 9 and 4 love the chickens so we'll outside with them most of the day.

The only thing I can think of that I want is an incubator. I've been using a home made one it's works well but I have to keep a close eye on it.

Christmas eve, DH works till midnight...so, just me, the dogs, and the chickens/turkeys here. Im waiting up till midnight...to hear them talk!

Oh, waite...maybe I dont want to know what they will say...WE WANT HEAT! LOL
Christmas day...One of our sons will come with his DW and son. We will have a ham dinner...open presents...not much this year....but enough to be thankfull. I would LOVE to get enough fencing ( split rail with 1x3 fence) to put in a pasture on 2 acres with my barn...so I can get my sheep next year.

Nope. She has told me many times I can go ahead and buy it, but I can't justify spending almost $3,000 when she usually spends a maximum of $5 on yarn at WalMart.

A guy can hope though. I just know if I had that Les Paul, I would play as good as Clapton, Page, Vaughan, etc...

.

I bought my DH a "Lezza" for his birthday back in 2000, he keeps it locked up with heavy chains around the case!
He call her "Natasha" and says "im going to go and play with "Natasha", she is the other woman!!
Im not allowed to create fire hazards here, eg candles, leave xmas lights on overnight etc cause he is scared she will get burnt!!
When i first met him he used to talk about wanting a lezza, it was his dream to own one, so 10 years later i got him one.
The look on his face was priceless.
A good investment,. a beautiful guitar with a smooth sound.
I hope you get yours one day.
