Here are my Shapphire Gems they are 10-11 weeks old. Got them as sexed pullets, so far no cocks. Figured I’d show these good looking ladies off. They are currently in a grow out tractor awaiting their new coop and runs completion living happily with my lone wellsummer pullet and my Toulouse goslings.

They do look beautiful with your Toulouse! I find the shade of grey very calming. And yeah I, meant red head feathers. One of mine has them, I can’t picture how it will look when she’s grown. Where did you get yours? Mine were fro Hoover’s via tsc.

Mine are also Hoover Stock via Runnings. I think they are trademarked by Hoover, so I think they are sold under a different name by other hatcheries. Your Red head reminds me of my blue copper. She’s a wonderful chicken, calm docile, but for whatever reason the rest of the flock has decided she is not to have tail feathers.

They do have similar coloring!

That makes sense that sapphire gem is a trade name so given that they’d have come from the same place lol. Looks like yours will have some cold winters to contend with while mine will be tested on heat tolerance (I’m in Georgia) so far they seem pretty up phased by it but of course can’t tell yet if it will affect their laying.

Why did you decide to go with the sgs?

Wonder if the red is an indication of a cockerel. I don’t have any experience with them yet. Our weather is definitely compulsive around here. It can be blistering hot, mild and cool, sticky, and frozen. That said I wanted a production breed that can free range and hold their own no matter what the weather is like. So far I like them. They are strong and assertive. They forage well, and aren’t to bothered by occasionally being goosed.
