Satellite maps are kinda creepy....

Yup! The last day the satellites went over us I had company, we were digging garden beds, and my son had left a coffee can out in the yard. You can see the guests' car, every row of the garden that had been dug (right down to exactly where we'd stopped in what row), the shovel still sticking out of the garden, and the freaking coffee can in the yard.

You know how when you zoom in on stuff in google maps you eventually get a message saying no maps are available at that resolution for this area, or something like that? You don't get that in my area.

Plus, of course, there are google street view images of my place.

The aerial images on Bing are even worse...

I was working in my front yard garden when I noticed a slow moving car coming up the road.Turned out to be the county engineer or auditors office taking road side photos as they drove down the road. I checked and thankfully it looks like they deleted me from the photo.

Bad enough you have to worry about neighbors watching you,but now you have photos being taken from the road and air!

And, keep in mind, these are just the photos that the public can access. Imagine the satellite images that the Fed. Gov. has.

I personally don't have a problem with it. You can see the plates of your truck walking by the house. I don't care if people can see the roof of my house. Why do you guys think you are in danger?

Though I did see a segment on the news that talked about official people (can't remember who) who were using satellite images to tax the people with swimming pools that weren't already paying.

Have you ever really seen those satellite pics?... they see a LOT more than the roof of your house.

The gun thing was only because my dad teaches us all too well about predators and to never answer the door if he is not home. There is a difference between a stranger in person looking in your windows and a stranger looking at your roof from their house! And that is ONLY when my dad isn't home to say it is all right to let them in my house.
And yes, I have seen the street view. They blur out faces and stuff, and you can't see through windows. I don't get why you have an issue with it.

I just can't get over how worried everyone here gets. That's a missile launch, people are spying on my house, X political party is going to kill America, the end is coming...

All that worrying must not leave a lot of time for enjoying life.
