Hello. I have a satin project being passed down to me. I am wondering if because satins (smooth, frizzled, silkie) are not yet accepted nationally if I will be able to get them papered? Next can I have some assistance with how this should be done if they were or when this is an option. Any help would be great since the original breeder is no longer able to answer any of these questions. Unfortunate. And I’d like to double check. Thank you!

Chickens aren't papered or have pedigrees.
There are breeds recognised by the APA and ABA but thats a long process.
Satins aren't a breed or even close to being a breed. They're just silkie barnyard mixes. Usually the satins are culls from someones sizzle project. Sizzles aren't a breed either.
Not sure what your goals are but best just to enjoy your birds and breed for fun. I don't see much support to try to get satins accepted into the ABA.

I fully understand they are not currently an excepted breed. (I did mention that) But they are currently an admired “mutt”. And I only want to be respectful to the original breeder/project starter. I appreciate your assistance. It allows me to ease my worries and continue on :) And I do understand the APA recognition. It is a very long process.
