I normally use some of the packet as I refill the water container throughout the week, that way the water is fresh.
I don’t provide two different waterer a, just the one. I normally only use sav a chick for the first couple days or first week.
Yeah it was a good idea to not put the water in the fridgeI always offer warm water for day old chicks. They'll get too cold if they drink cold water from the fridge
So I didn't use this. I did lose one chick when I first started out but then I went to the store bought pedialyte, and my 2 chicks that were on the verge of going perked right up after a few days if giving it to them. Hope this helpssOkay, I'm getting my chicks tomorrow (Yay!) and I'm setting up my brooder tonight. But when I was looking at my Sav A chick packets, it says to use 1 packet per gallon of water. I have a 32-ounce waterer. Can I make the formula in a gallon of water and just re-use it? Also, it says to let the chicks have regular water and the formulated water. Is this necessary? I only have 1 waterer.
You can. I've bought chick vitamin mixes that had probiotics, vitamins and electrolytes in one bag.Do I put both probiotics and electrolytes together in the quart waterer?
How do you divide it equally?x2. I divide up the packet into 1/4ths (since I have a 1 qt waterer) and just make it fresh daily for 4 days. I also only provide the one waterer because I want all the chicks to drink it.
