I hate chewing gum.
Never would I chew more than a minute, suck out flavor and be spit it out!
LOL---just me, never was a chewer.

how about people chewing gum like a cow chewing cud and cracking it and blowing bubbles etc. at the most inappropriate times--lol

See its Candy!

It says chewing...not swallowing...do you often chew up your candy and spit it out? lol

OK. If you do not swallow, spit included - its not candy (then you can call it toothpaste), but if you swallow spit as you chew, its Candy!

I hate the stuff myself, nothing uglier than seeing someone chewing like a cow, or trying to talk to someone when they're chomping like their life depended on it.

and for those who do chew this candy stuff, please keep your mouth closed.

We have beef jerky, nuts, pumpkin/sunflower seeds, granola bars, protein bars, etc all in our candy aisle in one store. Usually they just group whatever you snack on in self serve packages in the same aisle as the candy...gum included. Doesn't make them all candy though.

Oh and I think its soup or some sort of canned goods in the same aisle at another store lol

At the checkouts in our Walmart...gum has its own section and candies have their own section (candy bars and other icky stuff they make for kids).

Definition of Candy:
# sugarcoat: coat with something sweet, such as a hard sugar glaze
# a rich sweet made of flavored sugar and often combined with fruit or nuts

Candy is a confectionery item.

Definition of chewing gum:
Chewing gum is a type of confection traditionally made of chicle, a natural latex product.

So, IMO chewing gum is a 'candy' or confectionery product.
