No, gum is gum. Candy is something like a bag of skittles, or a lollipop, or a Hersey's bar.

LOL Well after asking DH, and my 3 boys the concensus here is 4 nays and 1 yay. Then my oldest son got all technical and was teaching us about what it is made from...he read about this in a book.. "Inventions and Inventors" , Vol 2... Chewing gum is a rubbery food substance that is flavored and colored.

If you are a kid who isn't allowed to typically have candy, then it sure does seem like candy.

But I would not consider it candy, myself.
