Save The House Sparrows (STHS)

On a practical note, I have never intentionally tried to do harm to any animal or bird. I like birds and raise chickens, guineas, Peafowl, and more. We have a very large barn that has always been home to a nice population of spayed and neutered barn cats, however over the past 5 years my barn cats have been getting old and dying, most over the age of 15. Over these same 5 years we have seen a huge increase in the numbers of euro starlings and house sparrows nesting in our barn. It is now getting to the point where I truly hate these two species of birds. Everything we own is covered in bird poop, my peacock's and other bird's feeders and waterers are full of poop from the starlings and sparrows. I am constantly pulling dead sparrows out of the water buckets because they drown in them I am also constantly medicating my birds as they are susceptible to the same parasites as the wild birds who are constantly pooping in their water and feed. The way our barn ceiling is constructed it is impossible to keep the wild birds out. And I feel I should point out that NO native species of birds are doing this, just the invasive ones. I am at my wits end with these birds and if anyone has any suggestions to keep them out and away without harming them please let me know. I plan on getting more barn cats as I feel they were a big part in keeping the population in check and deterring new squatters, but don't know what else we can do. I hate feeling this way, but these 2 species of birds are at this point nothing but flying vermin to me.

I completely understand all of that.
