Saved some ducks, have a few questions.

That is so special. Thank you for sharing that with us.  Since you still have Duke does that mean she is staying?

I can see my husband wavering in his resolution to not keep her...there's now a second kid in on the "let's keep her" argument. Her supposed to be new people are finishing moving this weekend so we have to decide.

I really do understand his argument against. We are very busy with work, and with dogs, cats, and kids have a very full home life already...but she's really grown on everyone.

Who are these friends? Some your rehabilitating? Beautiful pic... I know such a hard decision to make I know you'll do the right thing I just hope if she does go she'll have friends and someone to take as good of care of her as you have.

That small path between the long grass in the background goes directly to the creek (where Duke was dumped). So these are just the wild mallards who visit us occasionally. They come to eat and hang out in the yard, and in the Spring the females will even bring their babies to get some food and hang out.

This is why we always find the dumped ducks and geese. The creek isn't more than 30 feet off our property so we hear them, and find them when we visit. There's a road on the other side of the creek where people can get to it in their cars. They must pull up, dump them, then leave.

Thankfully you are there to help just think how many wouldn't make it if it wasn't for you.

Been a while, but I just wanted to hop in and let you all know we decided to keep Duke. We made the decision a few days ago, and our plan was to soon get another duck or two so we can move everyone outside and have no one lonely.

Well...these two little guys pretty much fell in our lap today. A young girl and her boyfriend got them from a feed store 5 days ago. She says they "got too big". I have no idea what in the heck she was thinking, but they ended up in the right place.

No idea what sexes or breeds (though based on stance we think the black one is a Runner). They've been with us for 15 minutes now...Duke hates them, but she'll have to learn to love her new family. My fingers are crossed they aren't both males.

Any breed guesses based on coloring? I was told they're a week and a half old.

I'm glad you are keeping duke. She seems so attached to y'all and even better that she now has some friends. I really want smack some people when they get animals on an impulse and don't have the means to care for them or want to.
