Scaly Leg Mites

Hi!
My chickens have scaly leg mites, and I'd like to get rid of them before our new chicks go out in the coop with the others. Any quick easy ways to get rid of them? Thanks!

A soak with epsom salt water, dry the legs well, apply any barrier type of oil. Repeat the oil weekly until legs show no further sign of infestation.

Slather Nu-Stock on their legs and on the roosts. Wear gloves when applying it.

I've had the same issue with slm. I got a jug of mineral oil and dunked them every other day for a week. But-how can you tell the mites are gone if it takes some time for new scales to come in? I'm almost at the point of applying castor oil once a week for 3 weeks, but do I need to? I have 10 week olds moving into that coop with the bigs this weekend, should I worry?

That Nu-Stock stuff sounds pretty harsh. I am usining VetRX. It also works as a repellent/preventative.

Some folks use burnt oil or gasoline to treat scaly leg mites. Nu-Stock is all natural and safe. It can even be used on cats.
