Scaly Leg Mites?

I just noticed my 19 week old polish pullet has scaly leg mites. She's the only one out of 25 birds I can see the signs on. Looks almost like calcium deposits. I soaked, gently brushed a bit with an old soft toothbrush (because I site I was reading recommended a gentle exfoliation) and then rubbed gently with casteroil and then patted the excess off and slathered with petroleum jelly. I am hoping that helps. I was reading also that they say to dip the legs in gasoline, air dry and then use a lanolin based diaper rash ointment on the eggs. repeat 3 days in a row and that's it. Aside from the cost of gas these days, does that actually sound safe?
Can you post photos of the legs and feet?

There are many methods that you can use to treat Scaly Leg Mites, choose one that is the easiest for you to use.
Yes, you can use Gasoline followed up with A+D ointment. From what I understand, it's the "fastest" method.

The treatment you used - soaking, scrubbing and application of Castor oil will work too. You will need to re-apply the oil for several weeks.

Thanks for the photos:)
If you are using the Castor Oil, I would probably continue with that.
Give her legs a gentle wash once a week too.

Does she have any scabs or swelling on the bottom of the feet?

Bottoms of her feet look normal. It's mainly the top and between the toes and going up the legs a bit. They look much better than they did the first day. I'm also having to wrap her crest because it's flopping all over to one side and her eye is getting puffy and squished shut. I am not her favorite human lately. tomorrow is coop and run cleaning. Luckily she doesn't mingle with the other birds much

She's white crested polish.

here you can kind of see how her hair feathers lean to one side.

Here is the good eye

And the bad

When the bad eye is open the top lid looks droopy. Once I put the wrap on she was much more confident.

LOL She's cute!

If you haven't done so, flush they eye with saline and try to remove all the discharge that you see, then apply an ophthalmic ointment (Terramycin, Vetericyn eye gel, etc.)
