Could someone tell me if this is scaly leg mites? My chickens had red and fowl mites along with Lice when I bought them. (I am new and didn't know it.) After about 3 months, I think I have those under control (at a huge expense as well as time) but unsure about leg mites. I have one barred Rock that stays puffed up all the time. She stands still and the rest of the chickens just walk around her, no pecking. I brought her in for a few days, wormed her, she doesn't have diarrhea, she is eating ok except treats doesn't seem to interest her, she isn't egg bound, crop is fine but she hasn't laid eggs in weeks. She isn't being bullied (although she is low in the PO.) I am at a loss. I thought perhaps leg mites because nothing else seems to be wrong. Thanks in advance.

Probably yes although it isn't a bad case.
Get some betadine and some vasaline. make a mix 25% betadine, 75% vasaline and smother her legs in it. Make sure you do between her toes and right up her legs.
Do it again the next day.
Leave it a week and do it again.
The scales will not appear normal until she sheds the old raised ones so don't think you're not on top of the problem because the scales still don't look normal.
If you have other hens do them as well.

Would that cause her just to stand around?
