I'd check out the link they told you to use. Good chance it's a phony but designed to look identical to PayPal.

Back in the day my girlfriend's myspace account was hacked using a similar method.. they had registered the website rnyspace lowercase RN to make the M. Took me forever to discover how it had happened.

Has your antivirus been updated lately? I hope no one would have snuck a keystroking program onto your machine to capture your login/password.

You need to report this to paypal right away!!!!!!
They normally have menu to report phishing.
They need to know that scammers are out there & Paypal
should be able to determine their IP address & shut them down!!

Quote:I agree, report it. Also, paypal offers a key card for extra security. About 2 years ago we got hacked and they drew $55 out of our checking account. We called Paypal, they set up this keycard, which is easy to use, just push a button any time you log on to Paypal (to pay or check balance) and it gives you a code to put in. The code changes every time, and it stops any and all unauthorized activity. We never worry about hacking now, and miraculously all the spoof emails quit after that [IMG]

    Forward it to [email protected]

This is to set you up to get your info. I always forward them, so they can at least try and catch the creeps. They'll send you a confirmation that is was a scam. Please forward it though. Enough people do it, it helps to locate them.
