I have 27 black Australorps, whenever I come into the brooder to turn the light on or off, fill the feeder ect they all run to the other side of the brooder like they are scared to death of me. They are 3 weeks old Friday is this just a stage they go through or what? This is my first batch of chicks so I don't know if this is normal.

Yes, thats how chicks are, I think it's probably natural instincts. We have cochins and my chicks run terrified of me, but my grown chickens always run to greet me so hopefully yours will grow out of it too. I even raise mine in my bedroom for the first 2-3 weeks with constant attention. I did have one friendly chick but he was from a bum hatch and was the only one so he imprinted on me. He would cry at the top of his lungs when ever I wasn't right there next to him. When I would finally give in, he would leap from his cage and dash towards me. So, yes, it seems if your chicks have each other, they will be scared, but if you work with them, I'm sure they'll be plenty friendly as adults.

ok thank you I was a little disappointed when i got my chicks because they would run from me so that was reasuring
