Scared to leave the coop? Or something else?

Twice. The first time they went out they were attacked by a dog, which I think is the cause of her fear. The second time she did this same thing, huddled in the coop and cried. The whole flock went back in the coop and brought her out with them.

I am only allowing them out for about an hour at night. When I can watch them.

I am totally new to this, but I think she is also bottom of the pecking order.

Mine make that noise when they are separated from the flock in a ‘hey buddies where are you?’ sort of way.
Have you tried getting a chair and just sitting outside near the pop door? Mine seem to get a lot of confidence from my presence even though they all run from me if I try to touch them!

How old are they, in months?

I'm sure the attack didn't help, low bird might be part of it too.
Plus she's just not used to ranging.
There's a reason scared people are called 'chicken'.

Do they also have a run or are they in the coop most the time?

She came out with the rest today. I wonder of it was because she was in the coop when I opened the door from the run, and she didn't know where everyone went?

I don't really see anything sending up red flags - I think she got confused...and how red is her comb - is she checking out nest boxes - a little easy for that breed.
Her comb and wattles are still quite small and not reddening yet.
