I live in Mesa AZ, and have lots of bark scorpions. I went out this morning to fins one of my RIR's on her side. I picked her up are realized shes still alive but can not stand. One eye is closed but the other is open. She is pretty lifeless and not sure if shes going to pull through. I brought her inside, gave her some benadryl, washed her off since she was a mess.
It's been 30 minutes and i havent seen much of a change. Could this be something else besides a scorpion sting? All other 15 birds seem just fine.

Here are some pictures. Her wattles are pretty pale, etc. she will hold herself up like this with some help.

No swelling that I can find, although it seems to me affecting mostly her right side. I have been stung by a bark scorpion once and did not have any swelling but maybe the chickens are different?

This are the symptoms of the bark scorpion sting ( which I am not familiar with I am Zoologist but I live in a "short" distance from you, we have other scorpions!):
#Pain, which can be powerful,
#numbness and tingling in the area surrounding the sting, but little or no swelling
#Muscle spasms.

#Muscle spasms.
#Unusual head movements, neck and eyes
#Drooling
#Sweaty(not relevant for chickens)
#Restlessness
So if some of this symptoms mach to your chicken it is probably the case.

She definitely seems to have some of these symptoms. I found her on her side, lots of drool, etc. Her lower extremities and especially the right side seemed paralyzed. She seems to be getting back some of the movement now but still very listless.
Anything else I can do for her to help? I hope she makes it! She is one of our friendliest birds.

Don't give here nothing to eat or drink for 12-18 ours, for humans there is antiserum called Anascorp, and they normally get an infusion of liquids, but I really don't know how to do it in chickens! Let here rest in a cull, dark place and hope for the best.

Ok. I have her inside. I will take the food away (although she wasn't eating it) and keep my fingers crossed.

I have been stung several times by a scorpion and they really don't recommend you using the antivenom unless you have an allergic reaction to the sting, which is pretty rare. If your hen was stung, I'd imagine that the symptoms will resolve themselves over time. Please do keep us up to date as this is something that I worry about a lot as well.
