Scorpions and stuff

I live in Las Vegas. We recently moved here. I found baby scorpions in my backyard and asked a local reddit thread for good pest control services. One response was to forget about poison and get a guinea hen. I used to raise button quail and kind of like the "bird attitude". So I'm considering it as an option. But I have some concerns. First, our backyard is next to a major roadway. Do you think the hens would stay around if I find some hatchlings? Or would they just fly away and get hit by a car? Second, we have an inground pool and I'm afraid they'll drown. What do you experts think?

I'm not sure about the pool, but they will absolutely cross the road. Do you have a fenced yard?
