Scratch and peck feed

That’s a lot of good info. I did feel like it was more like a scratch than feed. I will be going for a crumble or pellet. Which do you guys prefer?
Go to your local feed store and tell us what brand names you have available on your store's shelf.

Blair’s is what the feed store near me carries but I would rather not buy through them. I also have a Feldmans, tractor supply and an orschelns near by that both carry Purina and nutrena country feed. They also carry nature wise, dumor, nature’s best and a few others if I remember.

I'm making something for you right now. You are wanting chick feed or layer feed for now?

Pellets are by far the best to prevent waste and you can ferment them or just soak them to make a mash to use up any powdery fines in the bottom of the bag. I provide pellets free choice in a gravity feeder but also give them a pan of the same pellets fermented once a day. You would think the fermented feed was made of something else because they set upon it like it is a special treat. I are changing over from a grain feed or crumbles it may take a bit for them to get used to pellets and be prepared for them to go on strike, but hold your ground and they will give in or start soaking or fermenting it straight away to get them transitioned onto it.

My 8 pullets are 4 months so need need to start switching to a layer feed
Here are a few of the brand names you mentioned above, side by side so you can compare then.
All are layer type feeds.
