So I have about 15 chickens and a rooster .every morning After around 7am they decide to do some “egg Laying song” one time I found the one doing it so I sold her and now there are 2 more that are doing it. What am I doing wrong, should I keep selling and buying until I find a quiet one? What studying I

They make that call when they are thinking about laying an egg and after they've laid an egg. It's instinctive. You will be going through a lot of pullets trying to find some that won't do it.

Are you allowed to have chickens in your area?
If you can get a video so we can hear what you are talking about that would be helpful.
(for video, upload to youtube and provide a link)

If the hens are making noises - cackling, egg song, clucking, etc., then you are not doing anything wrong - chickens make noises. Does your rooster crow - you aren't bother by that?

People seem to think that a rooster is the only one that makes noise. So untrue. My hens talk and sing and squawk and make much more noise than the rooster! The "egg song" is an instinct and good hens do sing! I was raised in Castro Valley and unless you are in Cull Canyon or somewhere remote like that, my guess is that your neighbors won't like the noise, or maybe they will love the noise! You can't stop a chicken from being a chicken! They make noise!! Good luck! :hugs

Oh yea I’m very close to Cull canyon. My rooster has a no crow collar that worked VERY well but the chickens do that one weird scream after laying an egg. B it I have these two dark cornishes that are super quiet and have never screamed. So that makes me think if it’s possible to buy a chicken that just won’t scream. And maybe even have a flock that is super quiet.

So basically, you want quiet chickens?
I suppose you will have to go with trial and error then. Cull the ones that are making noise and then replace them. It will be an ongoing process, but it may work out.

Maybe bantams make less noise? I have no hinder of mine.

I know someone who gave chickens feed and snacks if they where begging. This ended in screaming if they didn't get any. Her neighbours got annoyed by the noise. This had nothing to to with laying eggs.

🎦 🎞 ?

You know I'm wondering what you mean by "weird scream". Chickens make noise, cackle and cluck, and sing the egg song, none of which I would characterize as a "scream". Here's one of my hens doing her egg song, are yours making this type of sound? Or what?
