Scott (har).....
I was just thinking about you. I hope your hatch goes well. It is getting close! I can hardly wait!
Aren't you bored with my pictures? You have seen them all in person.
Amy,
You need to have a rooster farm.
To me roosters are for 2 things only; breeders or freezer filler. I have no time to train a rooster and if he isn't just naturally sweet and kind, he goes to camp. I do not want to breed that meanness and take a chance of getting more. So far, of all of the roosters we have had (which is alot) our all time favorite was Jacob. We just adored that one, and still miss him and talk about him. The only reason he is gone is because he carried the dwarfing gene, and I could not use him. I just have too many chickens to keep "pets only." Just recently I had to cull 2 Ameraucana boys out. I about cried and was very reluctant when handing one to a friend of mine. He was one of my favorites and would come right to me when he saw me. I did think about keeping him in the rooster pen, but knew that would be no life for him. He was not breeder material, so he had to go. She got a sweet rooster in that boy.
