Cool birds and pics they Knox

And I to spend a lot of the afternoon hours watching chicken TV also and giving puppy love at the same time(yeah to my 2 1/2 year old BJ dog that thinks he's still a puppy, heck he weighs 50# and still wants all of him in my lap the whole time I'm trying to enjoy the view)..

and Nella that's such a horrible way to discover a creature that one is so fond of. But it just happens from time to time and believe me the more you have, the more of those kind of instances will occur. Everybody knows most here do everything towards the best interest of our critters but sometimes you just miss things and its human nature 'cause "ain't none of us perfect". My friend in NW Ark. is an avid horse lover and does everything possible to keep hers out of harms way and crazy stuff from happening to them, but from time to time bad things still happen. I once told her "heck girl, you could put one of those dang horses in a rubber padded room and they'll still end up injuring themselves somehow".

and to the rest of the SDWDers howdy doody this mornin' its a great day to be alive huh?

You all crack me up! The Diva knows her arias she sings a lot when you have or do not have carrots.

She is not the prejudice type.

Ask her to sing "I got the horse right here, the name is Paul Revere" She does that one and "There's a Hole in My Bucket" really well.

hows that one?

Oh my Mrs. Beth in my own little world I got arias', duets, trios, solows as mentioned before hand, you name it I can muster up something. Now, you might not like it, but I can sing it. The only problem that arises then is stage fright oh yeah put me up in front of a crowd and its over and done with, UNLESS mucho alcohol is involved, but I quit that too so unless someone sneaks around and get a soundtrack of me in the shower then prolly not gonna get much elsewhere other than typing out dittys on the 'puter now that I can do good, so says I, huh?

Well, Jeff, you have alot more boys to pick from than I had! I ended up with ONE male! I think I got lucky with him.
Those girls have nice red combs, so they are ready to produce for ya! Come on yellow chickies!

Herman looks like his daddy! This is a younger picture of him....

Yeah you know Mrs. Kathy his(Herman's) tail well all of the boys tails are a wreck. They have been in the layers coop for a couple of months now and I tell ya those ol' gals were not very nice to these boys. So they got sorta ragged looking from that but I too think they are in a sorta mini molt now too. Yeah its sorta good that I had so many to choose from, but not, too, as it makes it more difficult to decide exactly which to use. Herman for sure and I'm gonna keep a back-up but that's not really chosen yet. Actually Herman is not the biggest one either, there are 3 more that are absolutely huge, but just don't catch my eye right. I'm gonna give them more time for impressing me, one reason I picked Herman is because he matured the fastest and has the more yellow feet than any of the others too.

Yes those girls are all good there's only one thats a little longer looking than the others but I tell you those girls are just like small butterball turkeys, round and solid. I could'nt believe it when I was catching them all. I'm so used to those production type hens that the sheer weight just amazed me and they are still growing too. should make for some great foundations to build barns on for sure.
